Old folds, with light creasing and toning, and a strip of mounting residue along the left edge of the otherwise blank reverse; good to very good. A literary association letter from the novelist Kathlyn Rhodes to the author, anthologist and man of letters Douglas Sladen. Rhodes thanks him for his letter and invitation, explaining that she is playing in a hockey match on Saturday afternoon but hopes to call afterwards. Born Annie Kathleen Rhodes, Kathlyn Rhodes was a prolific writer of popular romantic and adventure fiction. Her books included The Will of Allah, The Desert Dreamers and The Wax Image and Other Stories. Sladen was a widely travelled author, critic and anthologist whose large literary acquaintance included many prominent writers and artists of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. .
