original address panel. MARTIN, John (1789-1854). Address panel from an autograph letter, addressed and signed in Martin's hand to the Revd. Henry Mackenzie, Vicarage, St Martin in the Fields. no date.  Single address leaf only, with original black wax seal bearing Martin's impression. Manuscript address and signature to the recto. The verso with faint offsetting from the original letter contents, now lost. Paper with expected folds, age spotting, surface soiling and handling wear. The seal remains intact and firmly attached. Good.  John Martin was one of the most celebrated English Romantic painters and engravers of the early nineteenth century, renowned for his vast apocalyptic and biblical compositions, including The Great Day of His Wrath and The Last Judgment. Any surviving correspondence in particular with his seal, is scarce. . Very Good. Soft cover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1840.
