Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was first published in November 1971 as a two part series in Rolling Stone magazine, for which Thompson wrote until his death in 2005. It was adapted into a film of the same name by Terry Gilliam in 1998, featuring Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro in the lead roles. Octavo (205 x 130 mm). Illustrated throughout the text with monochrome drawings by Ralph Steadman. Finely bound by the Chelsea Bindery in grey morocco, spine lettered in silver copied from the original, an onlay of Hunter S. Thomson with his briefcase smoking a cigarette to the front board, twin rule to turn-ins in red, bright red endpapers, silver edges. The occasional minor blemish, an excellent copy in a fine binding.
