Crane's study is still widely cited, especially for the careful descriptions of the design of signs and their careful reproduction by her son, Kent. Quarto. With 48 plates (36 colour, 2 folding) after illustrations by Kent Crane. Original cream cloth, spine and front cover lettered in gilt, front board with red roundel and gilt crane vignette, patterned endpapers, top edge trimmed, others untrimmed. Illegible crossed out signature to front pastedown. Cloth soiled in places, tips bumped, ink marks to fore edge, occasional creasing and soiling to contents, tear to p. 91 not affecting content, offsetting from paper clip to p. 121; jacket significantly stained and chipped, circular loss to spine, without price as issued: a very good copy in good only jacket.
