Paris Hilton CD.

BANKSY - DANGER MOUSE.

  • Published: 2006 , London:
London: , 2006. First edition, first printing, with the white label signed by Banksy in black felt tip as "Paris" with a heart and a kiss, and the correct etched code R049 1712 5155 on the back of the CD. Banksy tampered with the release of socialite Paris Hilton's music CD by replacing the printed booklet and insert with his own and the music with a Danger Mouse remix, about 500 CDs were placed in music stores around the UK, which were then purchased by unsuspecting Paris Hilton fans. A scarce Banksy item as many were destroyed when found by the music shops. A second edition of 1,000 CDs was produced in 2008 with similar artwork; on this edition the sticker was smaller and printed top right on the front of the booklet and the CD had a printed label. The CD case is also signed and dated 06 on the back but we are unsure who this is. 12pp booklet, insert and CD housed in acrylic casing. With sticker attached to the upper left of the front cover. Light rubbing to edges of booklet, small crack to front cover.
