Friends of the ABA visit to Chelsea Physic Garden

We are delighted to offer Friends of the ABA the chance to visit the library at Chelsea Physic Garden, and explore their impressive collection of books and manuscripts with the Garden Director.

This is a free event for Friends and Members of the ABA.

Join the Director of Chelsea Physic Garden, Sue Medway MBE FLS, for a short talk on the history of the Library at Chelsea Physic Garden and a ‘show and tell’ of some of the Garden’s botanical treasures. Set up by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries in 1673, Chelsea Physic Garden is London’s oldest botanic garden and holds a library of 800 pharmacological, medicinal, and botanical books that are associated with its long and storied history.

Guests are welcome to stay on after the talk and join the Garden’s August Late Opening: Art After Hours for no extra charge:
