In uniform contemporary calf with decorative blind & gilt tooling, corners and edges lightly bumped and worn. Spines relaid, retaining old, gilt decorative tooling, gilt titles. Vol 1, frontis, [4], (vi) only, [1], 2-68 pp, 2 maps, 68 pls (includes 29 portraits of which 5 are hand coloured). Vol 2, frontis, [2], 69-120 pp, 63 pls (of which 30 are portraits of which 7 are hand coloured). Vol 3, frontis, [2], 121-220 pp, 1 map, 62 pls (of which 18 are portraits with 3 hand coloured, of the 44 plates, 3 are hand coloured). Vol 4, frontis, [2], 221-381 pp, [1] advert, 1 map, 49 pls (of which 9 are portraits - 4 coloured and of the 40 other plates 1 is coloured). Hinges reinforced at some earlier stage, marbled endpapers, gilt tooling to turn-ins, some offsetting, light occasional foxing, on thick paper, with a water mark dated 1805, title pages in red and black inks within black ruled border, all edges in gilt, plates dated 1792-1815, occasional pencil notes. Title continues: Illustrated with Portraits, Views, Historical Prints, Medals, &c. Together with an Appendix and Index. One of 175 copies with an appendix and enlarged index, reissued in quarto from the 5th edition of 1813, for the use of illustrators. Who bought the edition without any illustrations of prints whatsoever and then bought the illustrations individually from the publisher to install. With the usual 435/436 pagination error. Terms & Conditions Terms of Sale Buyer is responsible for any additional duties, taxes, or fees required by recipient's country. Everything is returnable if not as described and notice is given promptly on receipt of the goods. However this does not mean that automatically goods are sent out on approval. Any return is entirely the responsibility of the returnee, and the Post Office is the preferred carrier. Our bank account details can be supplied to purchasers. Mastercard, Visa, Solo & Maestro can be accepted for most transactions. Checks are welcome, but please allow 4 working days for them to clear, before we send the book. Payment can be accepted in currencies other than Sterling but please ask beforehand to agree. There are no export restrictions. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS You may request to cancel a book order or return a book within 14 days of receipt of the book. A book may be returned for one of the following reasons: Item damaged: The item was damaged during shipping. Item not as described: The condition of the book does not match the description on Madoc Books. Incorrect item delivered: The title, cover or edition of the book is different than the title on the order. Item not received: The estimated delivery date has passed and the book has still not arrived. To cancel a book order or return a book simply contact Madoc with your order confirmation details and to obtain the return address. DELIVERY DETAILS We ship all of our orders via Royal Mail. Orders are usually shipped within 2 or 3 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized or a multiple in books we will contact you to let you know that extra shipping is required. Insurance costs are usually dictated by the shippers, should they be higher than normal, then we will contact you for your acceptance.
