A TOUCH OF FROST - WITH SIGNED LETTER FROM THE AUTHOR

WINGFIELD R.D

  • Publisher: Constable
  • Published: 1990 , London
London: Constable, 1990. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. A fine copy in like D/W. The second Detective Inspector Frost novel and genuinely scarce. Laid into the book is a signed TYPED LETTER FROM THE LATE AUTHOR from his Basildon, Essex address and dated Wednesday 20th October 2004. The letter is addressed to the legendary bookseller, Nick Penny: "Dear Nick Penny: Yes, indeed, I do remember you. I have signed and posted the bookplate to your friend, as requested. Whilst I can't remember signing his books - it was a long time ago - the name Grover De Luca - certainly rings a strong bell and I have little doubt but that what he says is absolutely correct. If you are still doubtful, Ralph Spurrier may remember the details. Warmest wishes. Rodney Wingfield". The envelope used by the late Rodney Wingfield is included. Also laid into the book is a typed, signed letter from Grover De Luca (a US Book Seller) as to how he was introduced to Rodney Wingfield by Ralph Spurrier of Post Mortem Books and recalling that he spoke to him a couple of times over a couple of years and describing him as a "thoroughly fine fellow". Scarce with these attributes
