Cancelled stamp of Middlesex Hospital (and minor mark) to title and first page of index, further private ownership stamp to front pastedown. Old mark to bottom margin of sigs. Y to end, o/w. contents exceptionally clean and nr. fine. Twentieth century half-calf, spine gilt lettered in nr. fine condition. Very scarce. Pechey was a London physician and the first part of this work sees him providing an insight into the art of physick. The second part is herbal describing the virtues of plants, animals and minerals and Pechey concludes the work with ‘A different way of making the most celebrated Compositions in the Apothecaries Shops’.
