Kuscinski, portrait, wood-engraved plates and illustrations, some spotting, contemporary tan morocco-backed boards, corners worn, spine lightly faded and rubbed, a good copy. The author was the artist on Colonel Sosnovsky's scientific expedition across Siberia to Lake Baikal and Mongolia in 1874-75. This was one of the first expeditions to traverse the entire Gobi Desert.
