The Stolen Budget

FLETCHER JS

  • Publisher: Hodder & Stoughton
  • Published: 1926 , London
London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1926. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. (London: Hodder & Stoughton n.d. [1926]). First UK Edition. Publisher's red cloth stamped and lettered in black to the front board and spine. the correct first printing, "The Stolen Budget" being the first title mentioned in the advertisement panel on the verso of the half-title, the latest published of the other nine titles. "The Great Brighton Mystery" (immediately below "The Stolen Budget" dates from 1925. Slight pushing at the spine tips otherwise VG indeed. In the RARE DUST WRAPPER priced 7/6 net to the spine (as called for). The D/W has had some totally un-necessary tape reinforcements to the verso (by a former owner, I hasten to add). There is light creasing at the head of the spine and minor chipping to the head and tail and a closed tear to the back panel (reinforced on the verso). Exceedingly uncommon in D/W. Shows well. Photographs/scans available upon request.
