The Ten Holy Horrors

Beeding, Francis

  • Publisher: Hodder & Stoughton
  • Published: 1939
  • Condition: near fine
Hodder & Stoughton. First edition and first print published by Hodder and Stoughton in 1939. A near fine copy. The jacket, unusual in that the back panel and flaps are blank, is in a very complete condition. There is a small tear to the bottom edge of the front panel and the corner tips have mild wear. A previous bookseller has written the price on the inside flap of 7/6 net. The book is in excellent order with clean boards and pages and no previous owners ink. Overall a near fine copy. Francis Beeding is the pseudonym used by two British male writers, John Leslie Palmer (1885-1944) and Hilary St George Saunders (1898-1951). The pseudonym was a joint effort and was apparently chosen because Palmer always wanted to be called Francis and Saunders had once owned a house in the Sussex village of Beeding. . Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 1939.
